Delhi/Hyderabad, April 9 (Maxim News): The Union Government has issued an emergency advisory to Indian seafarers stranded in the Strait of Hormuz. It has advised them to remain alert at all times and not to leave their ships unnecessarily. The Director General of Shipping (DGS) has issued a statement to this effect. Due to security reasons, the Indian seafarers stranded in the waters surrounding Iran should stay away from sensitive areas. It has advised that no one should come out unless necessary.
It asked them to stay in touch with the Indian Embassy from time to time. It said that the sailors on the ships should stay in them. It asked them to be vigilant and follow the instructions issued by the authorities. It advised them to be in constant contact with the company representatives and officials. After almost 40 days of fierce attacks, a two-week ceasefire agreement was reached between Iran and the United States two days ago. However, tensions in West Asia have not subsided.
However, in the meantime, Israeli attacks on Lebanon have once again led to tensions. Iran, angered by this, closed the Strait of Hormuz once again. With this, the situation has become tense again. In this context, an advisory has been issued to Indian sailors asking them to be vigilant. (Maxim News)
