Telangana Govt Hikes DA By 2.1 Percent For TGSRTC Employees

Hyderabad, April 10 (Maxim News): In a relief to employees of Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) employees, the State government has announced a 2.1 per cent increase in Dearness Allowance (DA) for the calendar year 2026.City & Local Guides

Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar on Friday said the DA has been raised from 50.7 per cent to 52.8 per cent, with effect from January 1, 2026. The revised allowance will benefit all RTC employees across Telangana.

The minister further said that the government will clear arrears for the past three months through supplementary bills, to be paid over the coming months. The DA hike is expected to impose an additional monthly financial burden of Rs 2.82 crore on the corporation.

Officials noted that the last DA hike of 2.1 per cent was implemented in July 2025, increasing it from 48.6 per cent to 50.7 per cent. With the latest revision, the DA now stands at 52.8 per cent, and no arrears remain pending following the implementation of RPS-2017.

TGSRTC Managing Director Y Nagi Reddy welcomed the decision and thanked the government, stating that employee welfare remains a priority.

The minister also held a review meeting with regional managers, directing officials to expedite pending works and development activities within the corporation. (Maxim News)
