Hyderabad, July 20: In view of the heavy rains across Telangana with up to 19cm rain reported in 24- hours at Jangaon and various other districts of East Telangana, the government announced two day holiday for all educational institutions. The holidays will be in effect from July 20, Thursday and July 21, Friday.
The announcement was made by Sabitha Indra Reddy, Education Minister via her Twitter account.
The state is presently under orange and yellow alert as three different weather systems have engulfed the state leading to large amounts of rainfall. The state capital, Hyderabad also has seen a moderate amount of rain for the last two days of continuous rains. As per officials from the disaster relief force, nearly 34 tree falls were recorded in the last 24 hours in Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation limits.
