Govt Not Responsible For Submergence Of Pump Houses: Niranjan Reddy

Tender an Unconditional Apology to Farmers: Niranjan to Bandi Sanjay

Hyderabad, June 10 (Hydnow): Agriculture Minister S. Niranjan Reddy said BJP State president Bandi Sanjay to tender an unconditional apology to farmers and rub his nose in front of the Bhagya Laxmi temple for misleading the farmers on the promise of paddy purchasing.

Speaking to the media here on Friday, the Agriculture Minister said that before the commencement of Yasangi season, Bandi Sanjay had promised the farmers that the union government will purchase the entire paddy produced in Telangana.

After the crop reached the harvesting stage, Bandi Sanjay took a turn and said the paddy procurement is under the purview of the State government.

Bandi Sanjay had provoked farmers against the TRS government and misguided them on the purchase of paddy. He should tender an apology to farmers immediately, Minister Niranjan Reddy said.

The Agriculture Minister alleged that both Union Minister Kishan Reddy and Bandi Sanjay failed to bring funds to the Telangana State even though the BJP was in power at the Centre and they were not in a position to speak before Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the demands of Telangana State.

The Minister demanded the Union government to announce the Minimum Support Price (MSP) to all crops as per C+50 recommended by Swaminathan Commission. (Hydnow)

Chhatriwali Movie Review: Rakul Preet Singh’s film is informative but lags in bits

I could never wrap my head around Bollywood’s obsession with continuously addressing condom as a chhatri or an umbrella. Not only it’s cringe to hear repeatedly but also, it somewhere defeats the whole purpose with which films around these subjects are made. Moreover, picking a taboo subject and making a film on it can turn out to be quite risky if you don’t stick to the agenda and beat around the bush. Thankfully, Rakul Preet Singh’s Chhatriwali, directed by Tejas Prabhaa Vijay Deoskar, doesn’t digress much, and follows a crisp screenplay. There are some flaws here and there, but with all the humour and lighter moments, they can be somewhat overlooked.
