Reddy made these remarks while speaking to media persons after visiting Nalgonda agriculture market. Speaking on the occasion, he claimed that the farmers of Nalgonda had been waiting for the sale of their produce since the last 16 days and added that the authorities concerned had not yet started the process of the procurement of the paddy crop. He demanded the state government to immediately commence the process of the procurement of the paddy .
He asked the state government to procure paddy for ₹1960 per quintal . He said that it was unfortunate that the state government was asking the farmers to not cultivate the paddy crop. He made it clear that the congress party would stand by the farmers of the state. (Hydnow)
