Revolutionary writer Varavara Rao, who was lodged at the Taloja Prison in Navi Mumbai, has been admitted to the JJ Hospital in Pune on Friday.
The Visrambagh Police officials informed the Chikkadpally police here in Hyderabad about the ill health of the 81-year-old, who is currently in judicial custody. They in turn informed his family.
Hyderabad Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar in a tweet confirming the development said, “The matter is being informed to family members and necessary passes are being issued by the Central Zone DCP for his family to travel to Mumbai. We are coordinating with agencies at Mumbai.”
