Hyderabad: As many as 16 corporations fail to spend funds in Telangana despite receiving allocations from the State government. Official data shows several bodies did not use even a single rupee.

The State government allocated Rs 14,521.98 crore to 33 corporations and federations. However, it released Rs 3,198.07 crore over the last two and a half years. Of this, authorities spent only Rs 305.60 crore.

Notably, 16 corporations failed to spend any amount from the funds released to them. For instance, Valmiki Boya Cooperative Societies Federation Limited received Rs 25 crore but reported zero expenditure.


Similarly, Bhattraja, Krishna Balija Poosala, Medara, and Vishwabrahmin federations spent nothing from their allocations. In addition, Mudiraj and Munnuru Kapu corporations also recorded zero utilisation despite receiving Rs 25 crore each.

Meanwhile, the BC Corporation received Rs 295.09 crore out of its Rs 1,370 crore allocation. However, it spent only Rs 6.02 crore. Likewise, the MBC Corporation utilised just Rs 0.99 crore from Rs 101.70 crore released.

Moreover, only 16 of the 33 corporations currently have functional offices and staff. The government has also appointed just nine chairpersons for 22 corporations.


Officials acknowledged the poor utilisation during the recent Budget session in the Assembly. Further review of fund usage is expected.
