Amaravathi/Hyderabad, Jan 16 (Hydnow): A key development has taken place in the politics of Andhra Pradesh. The Congress High Command has assigned a key post to Y.S. Sharmila, who recently joined the Congress party.
The congress leadership has taken a decision appointing Sharmila as the President of Andhra Pradesh State Congress. Gidugu Rudraraju will be the special invitee of the Congress Working Committee (CWC) in this background, Sharmila will perform her duties as the president of A.P Congress.
Gidugu Rudraraju resigned from the post of AP PCC President yesterday (Monday). To this extent, he handed over his resignation letter to AICC Chief Mallikarjuna Kharge.
Sharmila, who has formed a party in Telangana under the name of YSR, has supported the Congress party in the recent Telangana assembly elections. Everyone thought that Sharmila would contest the assembly elections, but Sharmila favored the Congress. Sharmila said that they are not contesting the election to oust the BRS chief KCR. By contesting, they are declaring their support for the Congress party in the sense that they will split the votes and once again KCR will become the CM.
As the Congress party came to power in Telangana, Congress gave a return gift to Sharmila. By giving the post of AP PCC President The Congress leadership felt that the absence of Congress in AP would bring a wave with Sharmila’s entry. And it remains to be seen how Sharmila, who has come to the post of president, will take the Congress party forward which is missing in Andhra Pradesh. (Hydnow)
