Hyderabad, April 11: DK Aruna backs 33 percent reservation under Nari Shakti Vandanam Bill and said it will be introduced in Parliament soon. She stated that women have awaited this reform for years.

The BJP MP said special sessions are planned from April 16 to 18. She added that the bill aims to provide 33 percent reservation for women in legislatures. Therefore, it could expand women’s representation in politics.

DK Aruna said earlier attempts to pass the bill did not succeed. However, she expressed confidence that the current government will move it forward. She also urged all parties to support the bill.

She said the measure could increase women’s seats in Telangana. Currently, only two women represent the state in Parliament. If implemented, the number could rise significantly after delimitation.

She added that the reservations will continue for three terms. Moreover, she said the bill will open opportunities for SC and ST women. She stressed that women’s participation will strengthen governance and development.
