FICCI, FLO, YFLO, and Govt Degree College for Women-Begumpet Participated In The Swachhata Hi Seva

Hyderabad, October 01, 2023: FICCI Ladies Organisation (FLO) and Young FICCI Ladies Organisation(YFLO) with their parent organization Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry(FICCI) on Sunday organized and participated in the Swachhata Hi Seva(Garbage Free India) initiative at Government Degree College for Women, Begumpet.  

FLO and YFLO members, FICCI staff, and 58 NSS volunteers of Government Degree College for Women, Begumpet did a one-hour shramadhan on Sunday morning. We did this activity as part of our national initiative.  FLO national body has given a call for all our chapters across India to participate in the initiative in response to the call given by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. We have undertaken this program here at Begumpet Colleges said Ms. Ritu Shah, Chairperson of FLO.  

 We did this as part of the ‘Ek Tareekh, Ek Ghanta, Ek Saath’ Campaign,  a mega cleanliness drive to mark the celebration of Gandhi Jayanti. We participated in an hour-long “shramadaan” on Sunday morning, in response to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s appeal for a nationwide cleanliness drive, she added.

Swachh Bharat, or the Clean India Mission, is not just a campaign; it’s a call to action, a pledge to transform our nation’s landscape and mindset. It was launched with a single, powerful objective in mind: to make India clean, green, and beautiful. A garbage-free India is more than just picking up litter or cleaning up our streets; it’s about a profound shift in how we perceive our environment and our role in safeguarding it. It’s a call to consciousness, to embrace cleanliness, and sustainability as a way of life, and not just a civic duty said Arthi Shah, YFLO Chairperson. 

When we keep our streets clean, we reduce the spread of diseases. When we manage waste responsibly, we protect our ecosystems. When we recycle and reuse, we save resources and create opportunities, said Arthi Shah. 

Ritu Shah administered a Swachhata Pledge as follows.  “I pledge to keep my surroundings clean. I will dispose of waste responsibly. I’ll spread awareness about cleanliness. I’ll participate in clean-up initiatives. And I commit to a cleaner, healthier future.”

Phani Raj Julakanti, Telangana, Head – Telangana & Andhra Pradesh State Councils of FICCI; Chandrashekhar Rao and Mary; Dr Narsimha and Dr D. Saritha, NSS Program officers have also participated in the program.
