Police On High Alert To Prevent Anti-Social Elements: DGP

Hyderabad, Nov.26 (Hydnow): Telangana DGP M. Mahender Reddy said police department was on high alert to prevent the destructive and anti- social elements from creating any communal riots during GHMC elections. He said that the elements were posting messages to disrupt the law and order in the city.

He said that the they have definite information about the possibility of the communalRiots in the city by keeping in view of the corporation elections. Addressing media persons Reddy said that they would take stern action against all those who disrupt the law and order situation in the city. He urged the people of the state to lodge a complaint with the police against social media posts that are aimed at disrupting the law and order situation. He said that they had so far booked 50 cases against the destructive elements.

He also said that they booked 60 cases in the issue of Rohingyas. He said that they were keeping an eye on the persons who are trying to create the communal riots. He however declined to make public the names of the persons by terming it as confidential information. Commenting on the issue of granting permission to the meetings and rallies of political parties he said that they were giving permission to the rallies of all political parties. (Hydnow)
