Hyderabad, Nov.13 (Hydnow): In a reprieve to people ahead of Deepavali, Supreme Court (SC) today gave its nod for bursting crackers with some riders.
The SC came in support of the national green tribunal orders for bursting the crackers, for two hours from 8 pm to 10 pm, to avoid pollution amid Corona pandemic which may spread if air gets further polluted.
The SC in its orders has allowed people celebrate Diwali by bursting the crackers for two hours in the night. It allows the sale, purchase, use of people to bursting of the crackers for two hours from 8 pm to 10 pm.
The Supreme Court has amended the Telangana high court orders banning the crackers bursting in the state during Diwali festival. Reacting to crackers association petition from the state during lunch motion, the apex court offered permission to burst the crackers as part of the Diwali festival for two hours.
It asked the people to burst green crackers for only two hours and protect environment from pollution as it may cause spread of Corona virus during its possible second or third round. Based on high court orders, the state government has issued orders banning the sale, use, purchase of the crackers and bursting same.
Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar today issued orders through 1777, banning the crackers and asked the officials concerned to enforce ban on the crackers.
However now with the supreme Court orders, the government has to follow suit paving way for bursting crackers for two hours from 8 pm to 10 pm. The state government has to issue fresh orders with amendments to allow people burst the green crackers as per SC directive. (Hydnow)
