Teacher Suspended in Bihar

A teacher from Khagaria district in Bihar has been suspended following a video that went viral. The video showed the teacher, identified as Sunil Kumar, expressing his frustration about the school officials’ decision to cancel the holiday for Raksha Bandhan.

In the video, Sunil Kumar can be seen talking about his disappointment with the decision. His sister had to travel a considerable distance, approximately 90 kilometers from Bhagalpur to Khagaria, to tie a rakhi. This incident led him to voice his concerns against the school officials.

To compensate for the missed teaching days, the education department officials have decided to reduce the number of school holidays during important festivals in the remaining five months of the year.

The incident gained attention after it was shared on the Bihar Shikshak Manch’s Twitter page. The video captures Sunil Kumar criticizing KK Pathak, the additional chief secretary of the Bihar Education Department, as his sister performs the rakhi ceremony within the school premises.
