Hyderabad, July 19 (Hydnow): TPCC Chairman COVID-19 TASK FORCE Marri Shashidhar Reddy thanked rank and file of Congress party in making the #SpeakUpTelangana online social media campaign a resounding success. He said that They had participated in the campaign making seven demands that the state government must fulfil. In addition, a large number of common people have also participated in this campaign to give vent to their despair and anger with the manner the state government has handed the Covid-19 pandemic in Telangana, he said while thanking them for their participation.

Referring to a recent video released by WHO, he said that the its Director General of the Organization Dr Tedros had warned that many governments were headed in the wrong direction while noting that the virus remains public enemy number one. He said that Telangana is a state that must have been under the radar of the WHO. He said that In a study published in the latest edition of The Lancet, the leading medical journal in the world, Telangana, along with Madhya Pradesh and Bihar had been marked as the most vulnerable to coronavirus in India, after taking into consideration various indices and parameters.

He hoped that Chief Minister of the state KCR would wake up and opens his eyes and added that the CM should realise that he was solely responsible for the manner things have been handled while noting that the People of Telangana feel a let down.

Reiterating the demands of the task force he demanded the state government to Cover the Covid-19 treatment cost under Arogyashri for all poor people with white card, Regulate treatment charges by private hospitals and take over 50 percent of beds under government control, take over 50 percent of rooms in all hotels in Hyderabad and district headquarters to provide for home quarantine, Increase the numbers of Covid-19 Tests, Improve healthcare facilities in government hospitals by providing adequate budget for oxygen, medical equipment and staff, Pay Rs 10 lakhs to all poor as ex-gratia for Covid-19 deaths and Rs 50 lakhs as ex-gratia to frontline medical, health personnel, sanitation workers, policemen and journalists who die due to coronavirus.
