Telangana is Number One in Cotton Quality: Niranjan Reddy
Hyderabad, Oct.8 (Hydnow): State Agriculture Minister S.Niranjan Reddy today said that Telangana State was the number one state in the entire country in terms of the quality of cotton.
He also said that the state had secured the number two position in the production of the cotton. He made these remarks while replying to questions raised by the MLAs of the state in Assembly.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that they had a target of 33.20 lakh metric tonnes this year and added that they would two times more production than the last year.

Talking about the ginning mill for the procurement of the cotton, he said that they had notified ginning mills a the notified agencies. He said that the CCI would buy the cotton if its price was less than the market price.
Reddy said that they had provided taurpalin covers to the farmers of the state on subsidized rates. Commenting on the penalty imposed on the Ginning mills during Covid virus pandemic times , he said that the issue was under their consideration.
He made it clear that there was no link between the fire accidents that take place at ginning mills and the farmers. (Hydnow)
